  • Cream o’ Galloway: A delightful dairy farm offering a range of activities, from ice cream, workshops and crazy golf to farm tours and a cosy tea room. 
  • Mabie Farm Park: A fantastic farm park with activities for the whole family. From animal encounters and tractor rides to indoor and outdoor play areas, it’s an ideal spot for a fun-filled day.
  • Experience the unique charm of Senwick Alpaca Trekking right in our area. Get acquainted with friendly and playful alpacas while soaking in the splendid landscapes of Dumfries and Galloway.
  • The CocoaBean Company: Kids can indulge in chocolate-making workshops and fun activities, creating their own delicious treats.
  • Kitchen Coos and Ewes (pictured left) are located just down the road from us and run a range of farm tours. You’ll be able to see Highland Cows up close, a sheepdog demonstration and Beltex sheep. Finish the tour with an afternoon tea!
  • Galloway Activity Centre: Situated on Loch Ken, this centre offers a host of water-based activities suitable for families, including sailing, paddleboarding, and a water park.
  • Threave Garden and Estate: Explore the beautiful gardens and estate, perfect for a leisurely family day out. The estate also has a bat trail that kids may find fascinating.
  • The Wee Pottery in Kirkudbright is a new paint it yourself studio. Paint beautiful pieces of art on pottery whilst enjoying tea and coffee and cake. You an also get clay foot and hand prints made for your wee ones.
  • Galloway Forest Park: Ideal for families who love the outdoors. The park offers various trails, picnic spots, and the chance to spot wildlife in a stunning natural setting.

For those looking to explore art and culture in the area, the below are must visits!

  • Nicknamed the Artist’s Town, Kirkcudbright is home to many famous artists. Many examples of their work can be found in the town in the Tolbooth Art Centre, Hornel Art Gallery at Broughton House and The Stewartry Museum, as well as in the fantastic Kirkcudbright Galleries, which opened in 2018.
  • Cardoness Castle is a 15th-century tower house just south west of Gatehouse of Fleet.
  • Officially designated as Scotland’s National Book Town in 1998, Wigtown features an impressive range of independent bookshops and is also home to the annual Wigtown Book Festival.

For those who love to explore the local food and drink, these are some of our favourite spots to try in the area.

  • Dark Art Distillery run tours of the distillery for guetss to hear about the history of gin as well as learning about the magic that goes into its fantastic spirits and seeing its beautiful custom built still, Peggy.  Tours will last around 1 hour and will include a tasting of our luxurious Sky Garden Gin.
  • 1 Little Farm Shop is a latest addition to the region and is located at the end of our road! The shop sells its own meat produce as well as other local producers.
