Restaurant Supervisor

The Restaurant Supervisor plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation and exceptional customer service. You will oversea all aspects of the guest experience within the front of house and bar area, including supervising staff, maintain quality standards and optimising efficiency

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervising Staff: Overseeing the front of house and bar team, ensuring standards of
    service, appearance and behaviours are followed as per the business handbook.
  • Customer Service: Ensure exceptional customer service is provided to all guests.
    Addressing any concerns or complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Communicating with management: Providing regular updates to the restaurant manager
    on operational issues, staffing and customer feedback.
  • Adhering to policy and procedures: Ensuring compliance with all business policies,
    procedures and regulations including those related to food safety, alcohol service and
    employee conduct.
  • Cash Handling: Assisting with cash handling procedures including processing of payments
    and vouchers, managing cash floats and recording end of day sales.
  • Responsibility for closing and securing the building: Ensuring all end of day
    procedures have been followed through and that the building is safe and secure before
    leaving.
  • Supporting overall restaurant operations: Assisting with other tasks and responsibilities
    as needed to support the smooth operation of the restaurant.
  • Licensing Obligations: Be responsible for monitoring the actions and behaviour of
    customers to ensure no underage drinking and enforcing the rules of the bar and ensuring
    all correct signage is displayed as required when on shift specific to prices and measures
    and the licencing objectives.
  • In depth knowledge of all wines, beers and spirits we offer. Be able to prepare and deliver
    a variety of cocktails.
  • Accommodation Support: Be able to deal with any queries regarding bookings and
    assisting with check ins and check outs.

Overall, the Restaurant Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the front of house and bar area while also providing excellent customer service and support to the full team

Sous chef

We are looking for a Sous Chef to assist our Head Chef Pranav Redker to drive our new restaurant at The Murray Arms forward, manage and oversee the daily running of Kitchen operations whilst delivering consistency and exceeding guest expectations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

FOOD PREPARATION & COOKING:

  • Assist in the preparation of high-quality dishes whilst following established recipes and our high kitchen standards
  • Supervise the cooking process to ensure food quality and taste meet the standards of the restaurant
  • Monitor food rotation and collaborate with the head chef on ordering supplies
  • Background in European cuisine
  • Knowledge and experience of a range of meat & game cookery

KITCHEN MANAGEMENT:

  • Oversee and smoothly run the kitchen in the absence of the head chef
  • Encourage and mentor kitchen team members
  • Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment adhering to safety, health and
    hygiene whilst ensuring HACCAP guidelines and paperwork are followed and completed
  • Ensure any faulty equipment is reported immediately to the correct department

MENU DEVELOPMENT:

  • Collaborate with the Head Chef and the overall kitchen team to create new dishes and
    specials
  • Participate in menu planning, costing and pricing
  • Make recommendations for improvements to menu items based on customer feedback
    and culinary trends

TEAM LEADERSHIP:

  • Provide guidance and support to the kitchen team ensuring a positive work environment
  • Assist with rotas and assign duties effectively

QUALITY CONTROL:

  • Perform regular quality checks on food products to ensure freshness and taste
  • Monitor portion control to minimize food wastage and maintain cost control
  • Address any quality or consistency issues promptly
    Requirements for the Role
  • Proven experience as a sous chef in a high volume kitchen
  • Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food presentation and kitchen equipment
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to communicate and work well with staff in a fast paced, high pressure environment
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • To be able to maintain a positive outlook and attitude
  • Be forward thinking
  • Flexibility in working patterns
